Beat slowdown with austerity and renunciation

Economists all across the globe have concluded that slowdown is child of greed. Every body was spending beyond his means.
Millions of people have lost there jobs, across the globe. Shrinking profits are common for every organization. How do we react to such situation? Let us consider two alternatives:

Austerity: Austerity is a way of living without greed and survival with minimum possible resources. According to Yoga philosophy it helps us having peace of mind. Austerity is not as same as being miser. Austerity is being economical in a very positive sense.
Organizations and individuals should do the same, since fundamentally both are same. Organizations takes birth and gets destroyed like humans. Both have to make profit in order to survive. Austerity is not about saving money it is about living with minimum resources.

Renunciation: The word "Renunciation" is not very easy to understand. It is a philosophy. Let me give an example through an Indian fable. Sage Dadhichi renounced his life, because an Asura(devil) could only be killed, by the weapon made of his strong bones. On the request of Gods he sacrificed his life for good, because any way his body will perish. Renunciation is leaving any possession without feeling sad about it, for some higher purpose. In our context salary cuts can be regarded as renunciation. Lowering down your life style is renunciation. Moving from private jets to passenger airlines, turning off AC's for a while, consuming less water, lowering down budget of entertainment can be regarded as renunciation.

Once we get accustomed to expensive lifestyle, it becomes very difficult to adapt for a cheaper lifestyle. But it is better option than whole family committing suicide. One should not fear social embarrassments as they are always there in any socio-economical segment. You will always find supporting people in your financial segment. It is law of society that people having same financial and educational capability socialize. Leave your old society, it is also renunciation. Start afresh with new zest and zeal.
