Marriage is a sacred union

In every time, place and culture marriage is called sacred union of two souls. Let us explore why?

Marriage gives a social and legal platform for man and women to live together, share there pain and pleasure. It gives a platform for procreation, it gives society a structure. Without marriage there will be utter chaos, this institution gives us identity.
Procreation is always divine. It is a way to continue our human race. If God has created this world, I am sure, he would like to see the world running for eternity. This way marriage is service to God.

Now why it is called union of two souls? Great couples when they live together for prolonged time and they also have a good tuning between them, they start looking like brother sister. They start looking alike because they share same food, life style and thought pattern, their forces gets combined. I have seen many example of good couples to prove my point.

Now let us see more facts. Male and female are needed to each other for better physical and mental health. Man has different set of forces like adamant physical strength, decision making ability on the other hand women have different set of gifts like manage things, multi task, emotional strength etc. When they live together they complete each other , complement each other and become stronger. No wonder married people have better health than singles. (Exceptions can be there) . That is why it is said that they complete each other.

By getting married people do good to society, they prevent social chaos. Marriage provide a cosy place for mental and physical growth of children. I am sure marriage is a sacred union of two souls.

Beat slowdown with austerity and renunciation

Economists all across the globe have concluded that slowdown is child of greed. Every body was spending beyond his means.
Millions of people have lost there jobs, across the globe. Shrinking profits are common for every organization. How do we react to such situation? Let us consider two alternatives:

Austerity: Austerity is a way of living without greed and survival with minimum possible resources. According to Yoga philosophy it helps us having peace of mind. Austerity is not as same as being miser. Austerity is being economical in a very positive sense.
Organizations and individuals should do the same, since fundamentally both are same. Organizations takes birth and gets destroyed like humans. Both have to make profit in order to survive. Austerity is not about saving money it is about living with minimum resources.

Renunciation: The word "Renunciation" is not very easy to understand. It is a philosophy. Let me give an example through an Indian fable. Sage Dadhichi renounced his life, because an Asura(devil) could only be killed, by the weapon made of his strong bones. On the request of Gods he sacrificed his life for good, because any way his body will perish. Renunciation is leaving any possession without feeling sad about it, for some higher purpose. In our context salary cuts can be regarded as renunciation. Lowering down your life style is renunciation. Moving from private jets to passenger airlines, turning off AC's for a while, consuming less water, lowering down budget of entertainment can be regarded as renunciation.

Once we get accustomed to expensive lifestyle, it becomes very difficult to adapt for a cheaper lifestyle. But it is better option than whole family committing suicide. One should not fear social embarrassments as they are always there in any socio-economical segment. You will always find supporting people in your financial segment. It is law of society that people having same financial and educational capability socialize. Leave your old society, it is also renunciation. Start afresh with new zest and zeal.
